I don't know how much are you aware of a big unsatisfaction and criticism of breeders and judges in ALL FCI countries including France with the standard that has no logic and that splits the world into parts.
What is the logic of prohibiting Red color ? It is an even ONE color. It is not valid to compare the breeding of Red color to white and black rotweilers or white and black (parti) poodles. All this is not recognized neither by AKC nor UK and you cannot see them in the world show rings. So why to isolate FCI from the rest of the world ? Why France - the most beautiful and greatest democratic country behaves so conservative in this issue, against all the rest ?
I heard that the argument that Red color was not allowed is that because this color shades quickly, but first of all it is not exact, since you can see gorgeous Red dogs in the US keeping the color the whole life, and second we all know that shading gene exists in all colors and exactly because of a very small pool of Apricot and Red dogs this problem still sometimes exists. What is importnat that even if some Red dogs shade they shade to an Apricot color that is recognized, so why not to allow a close to Apricot - Red color in the same FCI rings of modern colors ?
Yes I absolutely agree with you that beautiful Poodle it is first of all structure, head, movement, carriage and so on, and all of us are breeding with the only goal - to improve, but isn't it true that we don't want to see the world just in 3-4 colors, colors - are what the life and nature gave us as a present to make the life more beautiful, so why do we refuse it, why do we make the life more grey ?
I heard about you very many positive feedbacks, and since you are starting in the new position we all hope for improvements that again many years are waited by most respected breeders. Do you want that a group of most respected breeders will write an official letter to the French committe ? What can help to change the situation in this issue ?

The standard for poodle is a french standard and American and English standard are not recognized by FCI.
You have the problem with the red color and others have the problem with the back and white or black and tan poodles.
The french standard recognize the white, black, marron, apricot and grey. The other colors are not recognized.
The french comitee is going to work on the standard but I'm not sure we accept other colors.
I suppose if french breeders produce white and black Rottweiler or Dobermann they have problem with the standard FCI and Germany don't accept to change the standard.
A beautiful poodle is not a color the head, the body, the movement, the texture are more important than a color.
