Outia, тебе, как обозревателю от CCF, персональная депеша от г-жи Кристель Варнье. На английском, чтобы остальным тоже было понятно.
Dear Mrs Lyuba Oubry, you are a very active and virulent member in your country for the Poodle and specifically for the CCF and congratulations for this.
However, your club is at the moment giving instructions which, as a very passionate Poodle lover, I consider are not good for the breed.
In the future new standard :
Missing teeth will be accepted, i.e. more defects.
Certain males in certain sizes will not be accepted at conformation (as being too small in their own size - who understands this), so we shall lose even more genetic diversity. And, moreover, why only males?
Colour crossings are authorised for whites, blacks, browns… as there are not enough Poodles in France in certain varieties of sizes and colours, breeders are obliged to import from foreign countries, where no recommendation from the CCF is followed, and where they breed blacks with reds or apricots with also sometimes blue or silver behind… and so? what will happen in the near future? solid Poodles will not exist any longer!!!
Apricots and reds become one and only one colour: fawn (fauve in French)… judgements will be in favour of the reddest dogs and will all know this.
Moreover, during the last AGM of the CCF, breeders have been named dog sellers… so we are worth no more than backyard breeders and puppy mill managers!
So a strong club is needed, that will accept more colour varieties, but will authorise breeding between different colours only on derogation, duly requested and explained by the breeder who wishes to make this breeding.
Several Poodle clubs in the same country means more passionate people who dedicate themselves to the problems in the breed and want dogs to attain a better quality, physical and psychological. This is not a trench war.
As regards multicolored Poodles, sadly for their opponents, most recent genetic tests proved that they are 100 % POODLES.
Moreover, other genetic tests have proven that a black poodle and a black & white poodle bear exactly the same DNA as regards colour (no difference). The white markings which are nothing more than widely spread variegations have always been part of the Poodle breed and of its ancestors. This is why they keep popping out.
Black & tan Poodles also bear fawn markings like certain Poodle ancestors and, once again, I saw black & tan coming from breedings between black and black without any other colour back in the pedigree.
Apart from this, everything is fine for the Poodle breed in France and in the world!
Sincerely
Christelle Varnier
