Ellen, I don't love continental, I clipped him to it only to make it easier to deal with his coat - then changing to adult and matting overnight. Second, poodle people here told me to have him in continental because then judges at finals will like him better - they don't and we don't win anything even though I had him groomed by professionals and went to handling lessons to professionals. We are giving up showing then and will start obedience and agility and he does not need all that hair and the fru fru continental clip. I considered shaving him down completely, but the next year WDS is tempting so maybe I will wait untul then.
