Вот здесь можно более подробно почитать о КМП: http://www.dpfa.org/ Principle Investigator: Kathryn M. Meurs, DVM, PhD Institution: The Ohio State University Status: Year 1 of 1 Posted: March 2005 Study ID: D04CA-105 Study Description: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), an adult-onset heart muscle disease, is the second most common heart disease in dogs. Affected animals often die of congestive heart failure or sudden cardiac death within a few months of diagnosis in spite of appropriate medical management. Although many breeds are predisposed to DCM, Doberman pinschers have a particularly high prevalence. A blood test that identifies affected animals before they are used for breeding could decrease the prevalence of DCM. In this study, investigators will locate the specific region on the Doberman pinscher chromosome that is linked to this disease. This will be the first step in identifying the gene that causes this disease in Doberman pinschers. MAF: What is cardiomyopathy? Dr. Meurs: The cause is unknown although in human beings it is usually caused by a genetic mutation. It is adult onset, so dogs don’t show signs of the disease until middle age, 6 to 8 years of age most commonly in the Doberman. This causes problems because dogs used for breeding are already bred by that time and probably have passed the genetic mutation on to the next generation. Although many breeds are predisposed to DCM (КМП), Doberman pinschers have a particularly high prevalence. Последний раз редактировалось LioudmilaSherman; 06.10.2005 в 04:35. |
